Doctors knew there were master cells called stem cells in the heart, but heart muscle usually simply forms scar tissue after damage and never fully regenerates.” “Frisen said the rate at which the new cells are produced slows as we get older, with a young adult in their twenties renewing cells at a rate of about 1 percent a year, falling to half a percent a year by the age of 75. It helps settle a longstanding controversy about whether the human heart has any ability to regenerate itself”

According to scientists in London it is physically possible to regenerate heart cells.
They found that stem cells work not by growing into new heart cells, but by producing certain biological factors to create an environment that benefits the injured heart cells. It is not the cells themselves, but rather the chemical signals they secrete that restore heart tissue.

Inflatable knitted lung mechanism
These lungs are on a repeat cycle timer which switches the circuit from one set of fans to another. The fans force air into and out of the lungs, causing them to breathe. The resulting motion is both subtle and extreme.
Breathing cycle may turned on and off with toggle switch.

Check out second 32 when the lungs switch from inhale to exhale!
